New Safety Protocols at GTA starting Saturday June 20!

As you are all aware, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demmings has issued an Executive Order where every person working, living, visiting, or doing business in Orange County is required to wear a Face Covering consistent with the current CDC guideline while in any public place.

This Order shall become effective on June 20, 2020 at 12:01 A.M.

To abide by this new order, GTA is instilling new safety protocols listed in this email. Please review the protocols and reply back with confirmation of review.

Face Masks:

All GTA players and parents must wear a face mask while walking on-site starting Saturday June 20. Players will have their temperature taken before walking on-court after which they may remove their mask.

A temperature station will be located at the circle before the path to the courts.

We understand that GTA offers a charming, relaxing and peaceful setting to be outside and watch your child train however GTA is still a place of work. As the number of COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Orange County, GTA is instilling a “drop-off only” policy as is practiced at other facilities. An exception will be made for Red & Orange Ball players who are permitted to have one parent
on-site. Additionally, the patio will only be open to players and coaches.

Item IV in Section 3. Exceptions of the ordinance is applicable to the GTA coaches. The exception states that “Persons working in a profession where use of a face covering will not be compatible with the duties of the profession” do not have to abide by the requirement. Coaches will also have their temperatures taken everyday upon arrival. GTA Coaches will practice social distancing with the players on-court but will only wear a mask while walking around the site.

Hand Sanitizer:

Antibacterial wipes located at every ball-basket, will continue to be used on equipment. Coaches will also make sure to sanitize all players’ hands before and after practice. Players are also encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer in their tennis bag.

Player Chairs:

During the parent meeting on June 12, it was requested that players bring their own chairs. We have not seen too many players abide by this request. Please provide your player with his/her own chair. Academy Sports, Walmart and CVS are among the stores where one can be purchased.

GTA thanks you, our GTA Family, ahead of time for your cooperation and understanding as we all abide to these hopefully temporary safety protocols. We want to remain open. It is important that we show both the County and Tavistock Group that Safety Protocols are in place and being followed.

If you have any concerns, please reach out by phone or email to Coach Glauco or Danielle Gooding.

Reminder that Coach Jay & Coach Jorge will be in Charleston beginning Saturday June 20 for a tournament with Caroline and Danielle. As an FYI – All coaches and players at the tournament must undergo Covid testing.
